The Apostle Paul was so excited when he started to think about all the blessings that are ours in Christ that he wrote it all down in one long sentence – from verse 3 to verse 14 without a comma or a full stop! I hope that as you think and discuss all the blessings that are ours in Christ you will get excited too!

1. What do you think Paul is referring to when he talks about “spiritual blessings” in verse 3.

2. Who are “spiritual blessings” for and how do we enjoy them?

3. How many “spiritual blessings” can you find in these verses?

4. Discuss the term “In Christ”

5. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? “God chooses certain people to be saved. They have no choice in the matter. This means by implication that God chooses others to be lost” Why?

6. What do you think being “chosen in Christ” means? How is this a blessing?

7. Paul ties the concept of “redemption” in verse 7 with “forgiveness”. In what ways are they related?

8. What do you think the blessings of “redemption” are?

9. How do you know your eternal inheritance is “guaranteed” (v13-14)

10. We’ve been greatly blessed. In Christ we have been

Chosen by the Father
Redeemed by the Son
Our eternal inheritance guaranteed by the Holy Spirit

The question is, Why would God want to do that? Why would God want to bless us like that?
See (vv 6,12,14)
