Theme Bible Discovery [32] – Majoring on Minors
Familiarity is both a friend and an enemy. We would not survive without things everyday that are familiar to us. We need familiarity to give a sense of security and belonging. Yet the old saying has truth that says “familiarity breads contemptâ€. We become accustomed to what we have and can very quickly lose the wonder of it all.
Share where this might have happened with you.
1. Read Malachi 1: 2, 6-7, 12 “When you are bored with grace you don’t necessarily become an unbeliever, you more likely become a cynicâ€. Discuss.
2. Most likely the people thought their worship was quite acceptable. What takes away our discernment? What prevents us from seeing things as God sees them?
3. The answer to being bored with grace is not just to expect some new experience of God. We are called to –
* Take Responsibility
What spiritual disciplines does God expect us to persue?
What does discipline entail?
Is it any more difficult to live godly lives today than in the past? Why / why not
Discuss the privileges we have as a Christian that people in area between 10 degrees and 40 degrees north of Equator do not have.
What does this mean to us? [See Philippians 1:27]

Read v13 Share how worship / Christian life can become a burden. What do we do with it all? [See also 2 Corinthians 4:16-17]
“Don’t downsize God†How do we do that in our worship / lives?
Read v10 What do you think would happen to UPBC if we shut the doors for 12 months and then started again?
What differences would you like to see?
Pray for one another that God would enable you to live responsibly and with discipline.
Pray also that He would renew your spiritual passion!
