“If we were to compare the religious holy days in East with the Religious holy days of the Christian west, you would have to conclude that we only give token acclaim to the greatest event in human history and in time as we know it!”
Discuss.

How would you respond to a 4 day Christian Easter Festival?
Would you support a time where we celebrated, worshipped, feasted and sought the resurrected Jesus over these 4 days? Would it interfere with Easter?

Read 1 Corinthians 15:3
“……..first importance”
What makes the gospel [v3-5] of first importance?
How does this message belong in a consumer Church where the thing of first importance seems to be to meet people needs?

Read Luke 24:1-8 cf Matthew 27:62-66
How could Jesus friends “forget” what he taught about the resurrection, while his enemies “remembered”?
Is it possible that we can hear the truth so often or be so close to it that somehow we don’t grasp it?

“These ladies went to the tomb prepared for the INEVITABLE and returned with the UNEXPECTED.”
That’s the heart of the resurrection.
Share any experience where you were prepared for the inevitable and God did the unexpected.

Discuss some places where people are looking for life today.
Discuss why / how Jesus can give us “life and life more abundant” [John 10:10]
