Neil has been Senior Pastor at Unley Park since 1992. Before this he and his wife Lyn served at Darwin Baptist Church in the Northern Territory and Camden Park Baptist Church. Neil and Lyn have 3 adult children, Melanie, Mark and Rebecca, and five beautiful grandchildren, Madison, Chelsea, Jedd, Ava and Lochie

Youth Pastor

Biography

I joined Unley Park at the beginning of 2007 having previously been in ministry at Kerang Baptist in country Victoria. I am passionate about following Jesus Christ, reaching young people and helping youth walk with God and live authentic Christian lives. In my spare time I love to fish (for fish), play Golf when I can, ride my scooter through the suburbs, love to chat over a coffee (Starbucks at Glenelg is nice), catching up on missed sleep from playing Travian and dancing to the wiggles with my 2 sons (which I'm not that good at).

As well as studying Japanese we pastor Agape Bible Church. Our ministries include preaching, worship leading, sunday school teaching, running church business meetings, running a home group, a parenting course for young mums, High School Bible study, bible studies with new believers and seekers, outreach events and befriending the local community. We also teach some English to supplement our income.

Associate Pastor

Biography

Mark oversees a number of ministries including pastoral care, small groups and local outreach. He is passionate about seeing people come alive in God and discover life in all its fullness through their faith in and relationship with Jesus Christ. Mark is married to Mel and they have two young boys, Tommy and Jack. When not doing pastoral ministry Mark can often be found golfing, surfing, following sport and spending time with family and friends.

Biography

My husband, Bob and I have been members at UPBC for approx. 10 years. We were born, and have lived in Adelaide, except for a period of 15 years in Melbourne. In Melbourne we made the most important discovery of our lives - that we did not have to earn our salvation, but God has given it as a free gift! This changed our lives, and our goal is to make Jesus Christ known as we learn from, and serve Him.

Biography

I have been part of the Unley Park Baptist community since 1992. These days, I work as an Assistant Principal at Temple Christian College, primariIy looking after student development at the school. I also teach Physical Education and Christian Living as part of my role. I have previously worked as an Associate Pastor at All Nations Christian Chuch after completing theological study at Morling College in Sydney. I love playing and watching all forms of sport, particularly football, but after 2 knee reconstructions my playing days are over. Despite this, I enjoying staying fit through running and competing in triathlons. I also enjoy music and of course spending lots of time with my beautiful wife Jane and 3 kids - Chelsea, Jedd and Lochie.

Biography

I was privileged to be bought up in a Christian home and have enjoyed the benefits of community life at Unley Park Baptist for as long as I can remember. I am married to Tam and have two adorable children Asha and Max. I enjoy being with my family and friends, playing the piano and most sports. I work full-time primarily in the Finance and Human Resource sectors, and study Counselling part-time at Tabor College. I have a desire to serve God to the best of my ability. I serve simply because I can, and because I want others to be blessed as I have been blessed through the community at Unley Park Baptist.

- To establish a Pastoral Care Team and lead and work with them in supporting our church community. - To participate in and encourage those who serve our church family through dedicated prayer. - To coordinate the efforts of a Welcome Team and assist with the integration of newcomers.

Biography

Cherene has attended Unley Park since November 1999 and has two children, Mark who is a Mining Engineer and Rachel who is an Accountant. Cherene works fulltime in the position of Administration Manager. Her interests are:- Gym, Golf, Walking, Gardening, Music and Reading. She has attained accreditation as a telephone counsellor with Lifeline & Domestic Violence Helpline and is also apart of the newly formed Suicide Crisis Support Program.
