Talk about getting excited! The Apostle Paul was so excited when he started to think about all the blessings that are ours in Christ that he wrote it all down in one long sentence – from verse 3 to verse 14 without a comma or a full stop! I hope that as you think and discuss all the blessings that are ours in Christ you will get excited too!

1. What do you think Paul is referring to when he talks about “spiritual blessings” in verse 3.

1. These are days when we have more money but we are more in debt than ever before. What is happening?

2. Read Exodus 35:4-9; 20-22; 29.
These people gave because they believed God was WORTHY of it.
* How do we determine worth?
* What does our giving say about how much God is worth?

1. The Bible declares that David was a man after God’s own heart (1Sam.13:14; Acts 13:22). In the light of David’s actions in 2 Samuel 11, what do you think this means?

2. How do you understand the concept of “forgiveness”?

3. Do you think there are “sins” for which there is no possibility of forgiveness? Discuss.

4. Are there limits to forgiveness? (c/f Matthew 18:21-22)

Every action, every attitude, every activity is an investment in something and it will reap a dividend and so the goal is to invest wisely…

1. Think about the kinds of things you are investing your life in. Are they for God’s glory or for self-gratification?

2. Hannah was a “shrewd investor” in life. In what areas of her life was this true? In what areas of life could you be considered a “shrewd investor”?

3. We may conclude that Elkanah inadvertently contributed to some of the difficulties and hardship that Hannah faced (v4-6). What can we learn from Elkanah’s actions?

Overview Question: Read From 27.62-28.20. Note the whole passage is full of messengers being commissioned to bear message. Can you find the references to all of these?

1. Where did Jesus set up his post resurrection rendezvous with the eleven? Why?

2. What are the possible reasons why the disciples, the eleven, do not all worship the risen Christ freely where as the women did? (28.17 cf. 28.9)
Which reason do you like best?

3. Vs. 18.b Do you think our sorts of Christian really have sufficiently grasped who Jesus is? Can you think of ways we also ‘hesitate’ to give Jesus the full honour he is due?
